Paris Gay Pride 2025

The Paris Gay Pride Parade (known locally as Marche des Fiertés LGBTQ), is a major demonstration and party in the heart of France’s capital city! Around 700,000 spectators and participants take part in the annual parade, which usually concludes with a huge free party in Place de la République (sometimes at Place de la Bastille, depending on the route). The iconic event is the largest Pride Parade in France, and brings together roughly 90 different organizations and associations, which unite over the collective fight for equal rights for people from the LGBTQ community.

Paris Pride is a momentous event for the French capital, which came to fruition in the late 80s, when a group of locals from the community united over a fight for LGBTQ rights. Since then, the annual event has grown considerably, yet a fight against homophobia still remains at the forefront of Paris Gay Pride. Nevertheless, LGBTQ rights in France have improved considerably since the 1980s, with gay marriage legalized in 2013. This made it the 13th country in the world to allow same-sex marriage.

In the week leading up to the main Paris Gay Pride Parade, a series of circuit parties, festivities, and other LGBTQ events take place across Paris, many in the city's gay district - Le Marais. Following the Paris Gay Pride Parade, plenty of local gay bars and clubs also host a series of different parties that are to sure to keep you experiencing your pride in the French capital well into the night.
